Heh, at least according to the strategy guide. Let's check out Fourside, the New York City of Eagleland! A big metropolitan sprawl...let's see what problems we can find that I'll have to fix later!
Heh, looks like I finally turned it off and started up again later this time. Onwards!
Fourside has a catchy, very metropolitan sounding theme. Just the kind of thing you'd expect to hear in a big city. Also, this is the theme you hear in Smash Brothers on this stage. :D
Embraced by the Skyscrapers
Mother 1+2 version
Side Four Turns Winters, from the Bound Together project. Good stuff.
Fourside Hilton from the first Rock Candy CD that I just downloaded eeee. A combination of the Fourside theme and the Hotel music, very pretty.
And the aforementioned track from SSBM! Even has snippets of the Eight Melodies. Why does this give me goosebumps wtf is wrong with me
There's actually another remix I have, Get On The Bus, that includes the Fourside theme, but it also remixes the credits as well, so I'm going to wait until we get there before I put that one up for you guys.
If you're wondering, the music that plays on the Onett stage in SSBM isn't from Earthbound, but from the first game, Mother (or as it's also known, Earthbound Zero) that never got officially released here, even though it got translated and localized and everything. It has its own Eight Melodies (which starts around 1:00 and goes to 1:45) which doesn't sound at all like Earthbound's Eight Melodies.
WOO ANGLE all of Fourside is at this angle. It can be a little weird at first.
Heh, I always pronounced this "Mah-no-TOE-lee" but Alex apparently pronounces it just like monopoly. COULD BE EITHER WAY.
75 times three....frick.
Oh no! :O Her shopping isn't done and she's fifteen minutes late to work! Arrrrgh!
A battle music medley courtesy of the Rock Candy CD! Also includes the Kraken theme which I haven't put up since we haven't gotten there, but you'll hear it by itself eventually.
Huh, that's one of the first enemies I've encountered that did that, just attacked multiple times in a row.
GO HOME AND TAKE A NAP LADY
Ah, a combo freezing-damage move. Not bad. We'll have to see how much damage it does.
:O Mother 3!
I'm taking random screencaps of the layout of Fourside for a reason. You'll see. Fourside's a big place.
Ooo, a cafe!
Wait, that was supposed to be a joke?
SO POKEY'S HERE TOO. THAT LYING SACK OF GARBAGE.
Puns can be funny! That just wasn't a very good one.
Caffeine buzz psssh YOU WERE DRINKING
We're going to have to check this out y/y
Earthbound = life lessons you can still apply today.
Then I imagine this guy will pop him in the nose or something.
HMM, I THINK THE CAFE'S PATRONS DOTH PROTEST TOO MUCH
You're late for school!
Hahaha the bartender gets all sarcastic then is like "well eh tired of that okay sure yeah he does come here, alright. my mom's not dead i was just flirting."
Aren't there laws against drinking in the street buddy?
Hee hee hee I dunno I just think writing out weep weep is hilarious
THAT IS CLEARLY A BEER, SIR
Just wanted to help buddy jeez stay homeless if you want to doesn't matter to me
Aha, a hospital.
Hahahaha I was wondering if anyone was ever going to bring that up.
Bad hair days can be lifethreatening!
A clever scheme, but not clever enough.
I actually said no here, this screenshot is misleading.
Then I came back and said yes.
Hahahaha I like the idea of an old lady just quietly shocked, mumbling to herself "at such a young age, my word, oh my :O...i need to sit down :O"
Hey, it's Pigpen again!
Yeah I'd have to agree with you there buddy.
Hehehe HE'S DOWN WITH THE LINGO
Hmmm, I'll pick up the gadget.
Now this looks interesting.
What an odd thing to say.
I will get to you eventually, strange shimmery triangle.
He's just fascinated by a shiny triangle? WHO WOULDN'T BE OKAY
Big honking building.
Monotoli building! I'm probably going to have to end up dealing with this guy.
The police are on to me. :O
Dang I was hoping to get some armor or something. Eh, maybe later.
Hmmmm, maybe not.
FINE COP YOU ARE
This actually an upgrade of an enemy we didn't see in Twoson because I didn't run into one for some reason called the Annoying Old Party Man. Hehehehe.
Paula: D: Surely it's not my fault?
That is the lamest level ever Jeff.
Hahaha I like the need for a sign to explain this.
This made me burst out laughing when I first read it and I'm not sure why. Just how honest it is I guess.
Aha, Mr. T's the guy who's missing his contacts! :O I think I may have missed a bit of text here, but ah well.
Yeah I guess.
It always pays to do nice things for people. If I ever make an RPG I'm going to have one person where you do something nice for them and they don't do anything nice at all for you just for the heck of it.
ROWSDOWER MR. T.
Hmm, could be interesting.
The story of those dudes in the desert got all the way up here?
I am obviously going to have to pay off a million dollar debt. BUT WHO WOULD HAVE SUCH A DEBT? HMM.
No one's better than the Runaway Five! :O
THEN WHAT KIND OF SHODDY MUSEUM IS THIS
Pff fine, I'll go see your faux-seum.
God knows those are in high demand!
Or because human beings discover them you know either way
You should come with me to [spoiler]
That is a very big foot.
YEAH, JEEZ NESS COME ON.
bum ba ba ba bum bum BUM BUM BUM BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM
Paula: Did HE have to pay five dollars?
Jeff: How did he fall out of the ceiling?
MOVING ON you and your heart shirts buddy
HEY EVERYBODY, THESE BONES ARE A GREAT BIG PHONY
Where's Mr. Fork? yuk yuk yuk (answer: in summers cough)
Mr. Spoon is bored.
YOU GET AN F
This is something I'm going to have to investigate at some point.
"I don't know, maybe they lost their leg to a mosquito, you know, who can tell these days."
Hmm, photoman would be useful here.
DO SOME WORK FOR A CHANGE
Hey, a theater! I wonder who could be at work here.
Topolla Theater music, kind of slinky and such, also fits in a big city
I'm shocked they still have tickets available. Alright, sure!
FIRST I WANT TO TALK TO THE MANAGER
I KNEW IT
HEEEEEEEEEEEY YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYS
Objective: Find buried gold. Good thing we happen to know a miner in the desert who's digging for gold right now! Let's go give him a visit.
BUT FIRST LET'S SEE THE SHOW!
Or you know, talk to the Runaway Five, whatever.
God Octal was right I'm just enabling you guys. >(
At least they're cheerful about it.
You're probably right. I'll bail you guys out again.
Aww, it's okay. I LOVE YOU GUYS ANYWAY.
I'VE BEEN STABBED!!!!
Their second performance!
WOOOO THAT WAS AWESOME ALRIGHT
Alright, let's go.
YES I AM okay now let's go
THERE THAT'S THE GUY WHO ALWAYS LOOKS LIKE HE'S ROLLING HIS EYES I love that guy
The game is so thoughtful. :O
Make a quick stop in the desert
Hey, a...slot machine(?)
Sure, why not.
WHAT A RIPOFF screw this
I knew that random digging guy wouldn't let me down!
Who the heck are you?
The Healer just wanders around, checks stuff out.
I am curious as well! I will have to investigate.
Eh, not right now.
Deep in the Goldmine
See Sixty Funk, the Bound Together remix. I think it's of this cave theme anyway, it's kind of hard to remember which cave theme goes where.
So we got to beat up five big moles, got it! Let's see how big they are next edition!
And before we go, some more remix recs from the Rock Candy 1 CD! I hope they put up the rest of them soon. I am so weird about remixes, I swear to god.
Psi Piano Omega is an AWESOME version of Paula's theme, just...a really cool piano interpretation, lots of improv.
Another Snow Wood remix
Peaceful Valley. Man that place is annoying.
Boing! Zoom! DAKOTA! You can never have too many Saturn Valley remixes
Dreaming of Home, just prettyness
